What Do You Accomplish Before 8AM?

I know what you’re thinking – you do your best work at night. Not so fast!

According to Inc. Magazine, morning people have been found to be more proactive and more productive.

5 Things Super Successful People Do Before 8AM…

  1. Exercise. If you want to live a long, healthy, happy life, there is no substitute for regular exercise. The best time to exercise is first thing in the morning. People who put off exercising until later in the day, until after work, almost invariably find a way out of it.
  2. Map Out Your Day. Maximize your potential by mapping out your day before it consumes you. Don’t forget to map out your goals, priorities and to dos.
  3. Eat a Healthy Breakfast. Nutrition is a four letter word: F. U. E. L. Apples, Bananas, Citrus Fruits and High Fiber Cereals (oatmeal) are terrific ways to start the day and will give you energy, satisfy your appetite, and set the stage for smart decisions all day long.
  4. Visualization. The morning is the perfect time to spend some quiet time inside your mind meditating or visualizing. Even just a minute of visualization and positive thinking can help improve your mood and outlook on your work load for the day.
  5. Make Your Day Top Heavy. Complete the least desirable task on your list first and get it out of the way.  The morning is when you are (generally) well rested and your energy level is up making you more equipped to handle the difficult and sometimes dreadful projects. The rest of the day will be a breeze.

Love it or hate it, utilizing the morning hours before work may be the key to a successful and healthy lifestyle.

“Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” That’s the counsel of the late legendary coach John Wooden.

Author Simon Sinek said, “Complaining begets more complaining. Anger begets more anger. And optimism begets more optimism.”

8 Famous Quotes to Help You Embrace Fear and Achieve Success…

  1. “Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.” – Dale Carnegie
  2. "There are only two ways to live life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is." – Albert Einstein
  3. "Do not look for approval except for the consciousness of doing your best." – Andrew Carnegie
  4. "The true measure of a person is how they treat someone who can do him absolutely no good." – Samuel Johnson
  5. "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going because you might not get there." – Yogi Berra
  6. “Expect more than others think possible.” – Howard Schultz
  7. "If people aren't calling you crazy, you aren't thinking big enough." – Richard Branson
  8. “Never, never, never give up.” – Winston Churchill

The key takeaway is to push yourself through fear and uncertainty and place your best foot forward no matter what happens.

You Want To Be A Champion...

As I was going through some old papers I came across this document on being a champion. Unfortunately, I cannot find the author or source, but I wanted to share it regardless. If you're familiar with this article, please let me know the author and source so I can give the well deserved credit.

"A champion is someone who gets up when he can't." That's the way Jack Dempsey put it.
The great tennis player Billie Jean King said, "Champions keep playing until they get it right."

You want to be a champion...
  1. Seek to  Understand. Champions do not take their products and services on the road without first seeking to understand their market.
  2. Are Bulldogs. Champions do not give up.
  3. Follow Through. Champions always deliver what they say, when they say.
  4. Know Their Priorities. Champions, through practice and dedication, develop an ability to look at their list of tasks and set priorities.
  5. Know Their Attitude Makes All The Difference. Champions are positive individuals and refuse to let the world get them down.

There you have it. Now you know what it takes to be a champion.
